Concrete Casting in the Steel City
This pursuit combines some of our favourite things, crafting and plants. At Plantology our concrete crafter Mel has been working hard mastering concrete designs. Mel wanted to extend our craft scene using her knowledge of raw concrete. Turning this material into elegant forms.
The concrete containers may naturally have blemishes and holes that are typical with concrete casting.
During the working hours Mel locks herself away behind the doors of a Sheffield studio. Surrounded by concrete, dye, water and moulds.
The fruits of her labour have paid off.
The inspiration for the new collection of face pots could not have come at a better time. We are all a little reflective of the state of mind during COVID-19.
